Owned by Mary Ann Ullrich, the Village Grove Tavern is Illinois’ oldest, continually operating restaurant. Established in 1847, the renowned Long Grove pub and restaurant offers a wide selection of eats that appeals to everyone. The tavern’s famous “all-you-can-eat” Fish Fry is served every Friday, and the best bottomless roasted chicken you have ever tasted is served Monday and Wednesday nights. The Village Tavern offers a diverse variety of craft-brewed beers on tap and bottle selections and myriad wines and a full bar. Owned and operated by Laura and Elizabeth Heffernan, granddaughters of Steven Jennings and May O’Bryan, they continue to keep the farm and business in the family. Beginning in the early 1930’s, Steven Jennings and Mae O’Bryan bought several parcels of land and named it after each of their mother’s. Susanna Farms closed temporarily in 2014 and reopened in 2019 with a focus on equine-assisted activities, small events, camps, and more for year-round fun. Visit Susanna Farms at 24153 W. Wandering Tree Estate was purchased in 1972 by Elaine Silets and her husband. They decided to open their property to host events and gatherings in 1973 and have grown steadily since. Elaine has a natural green thumb, and she changes the plantings around the estate by herself every year. Wandering Tree Estate don the name as such because of a mishap where arborists relocated a neighbor’s timber to a different spot on the Barrington area property.
