Working as a celebrity hairstylist can be an exciting and creative way to earn a living and meet interesting people.  There are few careers that offer a person flexibile hours, creative freedom, artistic outlets, and an earning potential that is self determined. Stylists control their own salaries based on their skills, customer base, and how many hours per week they work.  They only thing that might be better than that is getting to work on the rich and famous.

A Cosmetologist will work in close proximity with their clients and, with time, develop close relationships with them. This is the same for the celebrity stylist too, but in this case their client is someone who is famous and has a public image to maintain.  The relationship between stylist and client is an intimate one because the cosmetologist is responsible for helping form that persons image.  They are paid to care for parts of the body that get noticed immediately! Do you think J-LO does her own hair?  She needs help to keep up that appearance.  Just check out some of the recent hair styles she has worn.

It takes time and effort to create a trusting bond between the cosmetologist and the client, but once it is formed, the bond can last a lifetime. Both men and women will go without personal care services if their favorite stylist is unavailable, rather than take a chance on someone new, who may or may not ruin their great-looking, confidence-boosting appearance.

First impressions and great-looking appearances are especially important among celebrities. Angelina Jolie would not have the star power she enjoys today were it not for her stylists! She has talented, skilled people choose her gowns, jewelry, shoes, and bags, as well as apply her makeup, and style her hair so it looks its best. Even male celebrities have stylists.  These coveted career opportunities await the bold and passionate, as stylists graduate from cosmetology schools worldwide.

Imagine being the person who creates the next hair trend!

The “Farrah,” is synonymous with the 70’s just as the “Rachel,” is not only synonymous with the 90’s, but even now, women’s hair is still being worn in some form of that style. We are in need of a new, iconic, defining hairstyle every five to 10 years, and it would be a life-changing event to be the creative force behind the next, hot, must-have look!

As a celebrity stylist, a cosmetologist would be able to travel the world as he or she works on movie sets or televisions shows. The stylist may also go into business for herself and open her own salon to serve celebrity clientele there. The stylist may also need to visit the home of the celebrity in order to prepare her for photo shoots or to walk down the red carpet.

The possibilities are endless for a celebrity stylist, but first, they must graduate from cosmetology school. Beauty schools and cosmetology schools are essentially the same thing. They both teach students how to care for hair, skin, and nails, but a student may choose to focus on one area of study, such as makeup application, or nail technology.

So how about you?  What styles are you working on?  Will you be the one to create the next celebrity style?  Let us know below or post pictures of your work on our Facebook page.  We would love to see!

Celebrity stylists are responsible for providing fashion advice and creating styles for celebrities.

Their main responsibilities include choosing outfits and accessories for photoshoots and events.

A celebrity stylist can provide fashion advice for more than one person or can work for one celebrity exclusively.

Celebrity stylists need to take into account many factors before choosing outfits, including the age of their clients, their profession, the type of event they are attending, and the public.

If you are a creative person with an artistic eye and good communication skills, a career as a celebrity stylist may be the right fit for you.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average annual wage for fashion designers, in general, was $72,720 as of May 2018.

However, salaries in the fashion industry vary depending on a wide range of factors.

Some fashion designers earn less than $40,000 a year while others earn more than $150,000 a year.

Fashion stylists can earn anywhere between $20 and $2000 an hour, depending on their experience and reputation.

An experienced stylist with a good portfolio can earn more than $300,000 a year.

There are various routes that can help you become a celebrity stylist.

Although it is not a requirement, many stylists complete a certificate or an undergraduate program.

An associate’s degree in fashion styling is available at a number of schools and costs around $20,000-$30,000.

Online classes are also available and can help you cut expenses.

Four-year bachelor’s degree programs in fashion cost around $180,000.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for fashion designers, in general, is expected to show little or no change in the next years.

However, celebrity stylists will continue to be needed in order to choose outfits for celebrities for red carpet events, awards, photoshoots or concerts.

There is no one-fits-all recipe for becoming a stylist for celebrities but studying fashion in college can help you start a career in this field.

Two-year associate’s degrees and four-year bachelor’s degree programs are available at many colleges.

However, you will need a few years of practice in the field before you can be ready to provide fashion advice for celebrities.

You can start as a fashion designer and make the transition to styling as you gain more experience in the field.

A few years of apprenticeship can also give you hands-on experience and help you meet potential clients.

An entry-level job as a fashion assistant will give you the chance to network and make contacts with people in the industry.

Joining a fashion association is a good way of keeping up with the new industry trends and will also give you the opportunity of meeting potential clients.
