After watching many videos, I decided to place my bets on JBL Flip 3SE. A Review: About the Seller: Appario Retail is an authorized seller of JBL on Amazon. I cross-checked this fact with JBL by calling on their customer care number, and they verified it too. SO You can purchase the product, without worrying about its authenticity. Still, Customers can run a check by themselves or can call the JBL helpline number. About the Product: 1. Sound Clarity: 4.5/5 2. Bass: If being played on a low volume: 4/5; If being played on a high volume: 3/5. The Bass: Volume ratio is not so satisfying. The bass gets subdued on higher volumes and one might not be able to feel the punch. I think JBL FLIP 2 and 3SE are almost equivalent on this aspect. 3. The product looks and feels premium, and it is certainly worth Rs 4500 if you purchase it on sale. I Don't think one would enjoy spending more than that on this product. 4. The product is IPx7 rated, hence there shouldn't be a problem regarding this speaker getting damaged near a water source like a pool, beach, etc. 5. Weight: 470g, making it a little heavy 6. It comes with a charging cable, a manual, a warranty card, and a pamphlet written in Chinese. 7. You cannot answer calls on this speaker 8. You cannot connect it with other similar speakers, it lacks the JBL connect option. Overall: If you're looking for a decent speaker, which is associated with a brand, then go for JBL FLip 3SE. The speaker is perfect for solo listening. It can also lighten up a single room perfectly. But if you're looking for a party speaker, with punchy bass, then this product is certainly not for you. Reviewed in India on 17 June 2020 The media could not be loaded. I love absolutely everything about this speaker. Was planning on going for Sony XB-32 because come on, it's Sony. The reviews for Sony were great and everyone said it's better than JBL Charge speakers. And then I came across this gem of a speaker. The JBL Flip 3 SE. Based on the reviews it looks great, sounds almost as good as Sony, doesn't have a mic which really isn't a deal breaker, feels great, and is less than half the price of Sony XB32. That means this is a true value for money purchase and you will not regret it at all. Battery life is good enough. I haven't noticed any distortion or buzzing noise at full volume, it still sounds clear and the bass is awesome with no issues even at full volume. Some people said that a mic would have been great, well there is the normal Flip 3 for that, you can opt that. For me personally, the Flip 3 Stealth Edition does the job just fine. I'm not a big fan of speaking over loudspeaker anyway. In a nutshell, this JBL speaker is a compact powerhouse. It sounds great, the 16w speakers are super loud and clear. Yes, the Sony does sound better, it's a bit more crisper and clearer than JBL, but to me personally that difference isn't worth an extra 5k. I was waiting for prices to drop for these ever since I heard them at a friend's party and now finally I have them. I have had them for just over a week and my opinions might change over the life of the speaker. The Good: - Very well built, seems sturdy and long lasting - IPX7 rated. This matters if you like to carry your speakers everywhere. - Great bluetooth connectivity - Well balanced sound (to a mediocre audiophile). Most people would find it quite satisfying. - Volume and quality is great for it's size. The first I heard it, I couldn't believe such a small thing could be this good. You would barely hear sound breaking, being muddy or buzzing. It's great if even if you're having a small picnic outdoors, wouldn't call them a party stopper though. - It's a JBL. The not so good: - Has a decent bass. The amount if bass would depend where you keep them, if you need a good bass you can put them in a wooden cabinet and you have a mini boombox. - Mediocre battery life. In an age of bluetooth headphones lasting upto 40 hours of playback JBL provides 10 hours (that too under controlled conditions). Doesn't come with a fast charging - Micro USB (USB 2/B) charging port. - No JBL connect - No mic and hence no calling features. I was surprised as cheaper JBL go has it, don't what they were thinking. - Won't consider a VFM or bang for the buck. Just think of the time when everyone used to have a 2.1 subwoofer at home, you know how much it costs right? Exactly! These JBL cost way more than a 2.1 or probably some of 5.1 home theater systems, I know it's not a fair comparison but if portability is not your priority then these might not be the best option for you. Verdict: These are great buy given that you don't mind a slightly high price tag and you want great built, portability and a branded product. |
