Looking at the paper specs, even worse than I thought. 30% duty cycle at really low power means you'll be tripping it quite often, and 80 amps stick welding means you barely have enough power to run even a 3/32" rod. The fluxcore "mig" doesn't have enough power to fuse anything beyond tin cans, and in reality it will just sputter and pop holes.

I would avoid it like the plague. Spend your money on a good inverter stick welder 160amps+. Or get a 220v socket and buy a proper MIG welder. That's just the reality - 120v MIG is just weak.

The Forney Easy Weld 140 MP is a 3-in-1 machine (Stick/MIG/TIG). Lightweight and extremely easy to use, it is a single-phase inverter machine. Applications include do-it-yourself (DIY), maintenance and repair, metal fabrication, hobbyist and metal artist.

    Are Forney welders any good?

If you've got decent skills with welding, this machine will serve you well enough. I bought this unit to teach myself how to MIG weld. While the initial set up took a couple of tries to get everything right, once I figured out what i was doing, it has proven to be an incredibly useful and versatile machine.

What is the best welder for everything?

    Best Overall Multi-Process Welder—ESAB Rebel Multi-Process Welding Unit. ... .

    Best Alternative Multi-Process Welder—Weldpro Digital TIG/Stick Welder. ... .

Best Portable Multi-Process Welder—Lincoln Electric Power MIG Welder. ... .

Best Multi-Process Mig Welder—Hynade Multi-Process Digital Mig Welder..

What welders have the cleanest weld?

Plasma welding torches give you ample control over the arc and high-quality welds. Welds are clean, smooth, and strong. Plasma welding equipment is expensive, making startup costs high. It is a more specialized welding process and requires more time initially to train.

How long has Forney Welders been around?

Since 1932, Forney Industries has been one of America's longest operating, family-owned, welding and metalworking companies.
