During Black Friday and Cyber Monday I took advantage of quite a few sales, one being from BH Cosmetics. This was my first time purchasing from BH Cosmetics, but I’ve read a lot of good reviews online so I wanted to give them a go. I went for the Foil Eyes-28 Color Eyeshadow Palette which retails for $12 (super affordable), however, during the sale I purchased mine for only $7.

As the name implies, this is a 28-pan eyeshadow palette that has all foiled (or metallic) shades. The palette has a nice shade range from light to dark with neutrals and fun pops of color. It’s really a versatile palette to have if you’re looking for some foiled shadows.

The pigmentation of these shadows are quite nice. They are soft and creamy to the touch, they blend nicely, and offer great variety to create bold looks or simply shimmery eyes. The palette itself is plastic with a frosted cover. It has no mirror, which can be a con to those that prefer mirrors, however, I like being able to see the shades through the top, so that is a pro for me. The pans in the palette are a little wobbly though. I read online a few people mentioned that the pans came loose, which I can see happening. I will say that none of mine have yet to do that, but if they do I’ll just secure them down with some super glue.

There were a few colors I found kind of patchy or were similar to other shades in the palette, but honestly for as affordable as this palette is, that’s OK with me. It’s a nice addition to my collection and I think it’s well worth the money.

In my opinion, the best feature of this palette is that it can be used wet or dry. I like using shadows wet because it intensifies the color, and the shades in this palette really stand out when used wet. You can use MAC Fix + or any other mixing medium you prefer. These work really well “foiled” even more than the name suggests.
