When was it big Eid 2024?

Eid al-Adha for the year 2024 is celebrated/ observed on sundown of Sunday, June 16th ending at sundown on Monday, June 17th. Eid al-Adha is held around the 10th to the 13th days of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah and commemorates Ibrahim's sacrifice of his son to God.

How many Eids are there in 2023?

Furthermore, the first day of Eid Al Fitr will be Friday, April 21, 2023. Eid Al Fitr is marked at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. Meanwhile, the first day of the month of Zul Hijjah is expected to fall on Monday, June 19, 2023, while the first day of Eid Al Adha will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Why is Eid 2 times a year?

Why are there two Eids? Festivals in Islam are based on the lunar calendar - which is around 11 days shorter than the solar calendar, which most people in the world use in their day-to-day life.
