3. Phân biệt 2 từ “ Tips” và“Tip”

a. Tips là gì?

Nhiều người vẫn nhầm tưởng tips và tip là một, tuy nhiên trên thực tế thì đây là 2 từ có nghĩa hoàn toàn khác nhau.

Trên facebook hay các mạng xã hội chúng ta bắt gặp rất nhiều kiểu thuật ngữ liên quan đến tips như: dạo này có tips nào hay không, chỉ cho vài tips với, có tips gì hay chia sẽ cho anh em với,…

Như vậy trong trường hợp này tips ở đây có thể hiểu được như là các mẹo, các cách làm, bí quyết để làm một việc gì đó. Một số thuật ngữ tương tự tips khác cũng được dùng phổ biến như tut, tust,..

b. Tip là gì?

Khác nghĩa hoàn toàn với tips. Tip ở đây chính là tiền boa hay còn gọi là tiền bo mà khách hoặc ông chủ thưởng cho nhân viên hoặc người phục vụ bàn, phục vụ phòng.

Ở Việt nam, khái niệm tiền tip còn khá mới mẻ và mới chỉ có trong một vài năm trở lại đây do cách du nhập vào từ các nước phương tây. Hiện nay một số khách sạn 4-5 sao ở Việt Nam đã nhanh chóng bắt kịp những xu hướng này.

Tuy nhiên, tuỳ vào mỗi quốc gia mà cách thể hiển, cách cho – nhận tiền bo [tiền típ] này lại hoàn toàn khác nhau. Có thể cho một cách tế nhỉ bằng cách đặt ở bàn, đặt hoặc cũng có thể đem trực tiếp, và kể cả luật ngầm về việc cho nhận tiền boa này cũng đã và đang diễn ra.
