Các bạn nghĩ sao khi bộ đôi này được xách tay về Việt Nam? If you are reading this you are probably thinking about buying a second hand Sony A7. Good idea! As you can read in my review below the Sony A7 was a very capable camera back in 2015. Back then this was Sony’s first try in building a true full frame mirrorless camera, and I loved it. I loved it so much I bought (and eventually sold it again to upgrade to other camera’s) it no less than 3 times. I kept going back to the A7 because it is compact, easy and fun to use and delivers very high image quality. Combined with my Sony Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 lens this is a full frame pocketable camera! In this review you can read what I thought about it in 2015, and what I wrote then is stil true today. Yes, there are newer camera’s on the market that have surpassed the A7 in many ways. Sony’s own newer A7’s like the A7III and A7IV are tremendous cameras that are better in almost any way besides size. But that doesn’t mean this isn’t a good camera anymore. It isn’t perfect, but with current second-hand prices (some go for less than 500 euros – for a full frame camera that is crazy) the Sony A7 still is and will be a perfect introduction to Full Frame E-mount. In short my 2024 view about the Sony A7: Buy this camera if:
Don’t buy this camera if:
If you are still interested: please read my full review and see if this is the camera for you. This is a real world user review about the full frame Sony A7 mirrorless camera. The Sony A7 series are the only mirrorless interchangeable lens full frame cameras on the market right now. In the A7 series there are 4 different models, the A7R with the high resolution 36 megapixel sensor, the A7S the low resolution low light photo and video specialist camera, the recently introduced A7 MII with built in image stabilisation and the original Sony A7. In this review I’ll tell you more about the A7 in day to day use from an amateur photographers point of view. So this review is about the original Sony A7 camera (buy it using my affiliate link here: Adorama, Amazon.com or Amazon.de). A camera that has been on the market for well over a year now. Even its predecessor the A7 MII has been on the market for a few months now. So is this camera still relevant? I think it is, for several reasons. The A7 is still available new, and Sony hasn’t officially discontinued the model. And because of the introduction of the new A7 MII the prices of the original A7 have dropped significantly, at the moment you can buy the A7 with the FE 28-70mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens (click here for my review of this lens) for about 1350 euros, and just the body without lens can be found for as little as 1150 euros (prices in the Netherlands april 2015). That makes this by far the cheapest new full frame camera available right now (The next cheapest ff camera is the Nikon D610 which is 1450 euro without lens). Unfortunately the original FE lenses are quite expensive. Because Sony has made the new Sony A7 MII bigger and heavier to fit the image stabilisation the A7 is also the smallest and lightest full frame camera (with interchangeable lens). So to answer my first question: yes, the Sony A7 is still very much relevant in today’s market.
