Smok Vape Pen V2 Review

The SMOK Vape Pen 22 ticks that box. It’s a simple 22mm width all in one pen style vaping kit that offers a sleek design and easy use, with an 1650 mAh battery capacity.

It very much looks like a starter kit, however the 0.3ohm coils included in the box will definitely pack a punch! Let’s have a look at how it performs-

Design and Build Quality

The SMOK Vape Pen 22 comes with a 1650 mAh battery, and at the top of the battery is a tank base to install your 0.3ohm coil into.

Before using, you’ll need to screw in one of the two 0.3ohm coil heads, pop the glass tank section on, fill with juice then screw the top cap on.

When you need to refill, unscrew the top cap and fill with ejuice. Got to love top-fill vape tanks!

When you fill for the first time, you’ll need to let the tank stand for a couple of minutes to allow juice to absorb into the coil head.

Unlike a lot of other vape pen style devices, the SMOK Vape Pen 22 can be fully disassembled to clean, and it’s easy to put back together again.

The build quality of the device is very good and it feels really well made.

Looking at the battery, you’ll notice there are two large airflow slots, which are fixed, a USB charging slot (you can vape whilst the battery charges), and there is a battery venting hole at the bottom.

The power button is a good size, responsive and offers an LED indicator as well.

Measuring in at 22mm width, with a 110mm height and weighing over 90g, the SMOK Vape Pen 22 is a nice and lightweight device to hold in your hand, and the one button operation makes it really simple to use.

It’s an easy device that can be carried around in your pocket or bag.

How Does The SMOK Vape Pen 22 Perform?

At present, the Vape Pen 22 comes with two 0.3ohm coils and these are the only ones that are available right now.

This offers a pretty powerful vape that I feel is going to be suited to those with more experience rather than new vapers.

It has to be said though, I was impressed with the flavour on offer here. As vape pen kits go, this is the most flavourful I have tried yet.

The large fixed airflow provides a lot of vapour too, meaning you can blow some hefty clouds with little effort.

If you look at the coil heads themselves you will see that the wicking holes are quite large on these, and thanks to their size the coil heads wick max VG juice perfectly.

This kit does get through a lot of juice and fast though. Which seems standard with a most of the Smok vape tanks out there. TFV12 anyone?

There are safety features built in to protect you. Low resistance protection, an 8 second cut off, short circuit protection and low voltage protection are built in.

The 1650 mAh battery lasts pretty much a whole days vaping, and when the battery has discharged to 3.3V the LED indication will flash to indicate a charge is needed.

It does charge pretty quickly, only taking a couple of hours, and you can vape whilst the device is on charge.

What I Liked

The flavour and vapour performance on this device is excellent and all it takes is a simple one button press.

The coil heads wick pretty much any juice you can think of, so if you like using Max VG juice for even bigger clouds, you won’t have a problem using it here.

It’s a very well made little device that is easy to carry around, and as it can be disassembled easily you can clean it out to prolong lifespan.

Battery life is perfect, it’s a device you can easily pocket and carry around all day with you, plus it does recharge quickly. If you don’t have access to any other devices whilst it is charging, then you can still vape whilst it charges.

What I Didn’t Like

Although this is a design that may appeal to people making the switch from smoking to vaping, the 0.3ohm coils are going to be far too powerful for the vast majority of new starters to handle. The fixed airflow may also be too airy.

I’ve experienced some slight leaking from the airflow when top filling. It’s not a flood of juice as such, but juice has wept out of the airflow holes and got onto my hands.

The tank being fixed to the battery does limit your options of trying out different tanks on the battery.

Final Review Verdict

It’s not a kit I would recommend to someone making the switch from smoking to vaping as this kit will be a little too powerful.

The Vape Pen 22 would however, be a great buy for someone who has been vaping a little while and is looking for something that provides great flavour and big clouds with minimum fuss.

I was very surprised with how good the flavour was with this kit, and the airflow does make for some very impressive clouds.

The 1650 mAh battery means this is a device I can take out with me all day, and enjoy a great fuss free vape.
