I’ve never been able to find a lip tint or liquid lipstick that didn’t make my lips dry and peel off after applying, could last a few hours long, and come with a gorgeous shade. That is until I got 3CE Velvet Lip Tint

Know Better which met all my standards.

Last year 2017, the trend-forward and youth-focused 3CE brand successfully hit the beauty market by unveiling a new Velvet Lip tint collection just in time for the Fall/Winter season. The first 10 MLBB shades in the collection are so pretty and all come in reds. In Feb 2018, they added 3 more gorgeous colors to this collection, increasing the number of shades to 13 in total. The latest 3 shades are Go Now, Know Better, and Persistence, all of them come in super trendy purple colors.

Get to know Me better

Among the 3 shades, the Know Better shade that I got matches well with my light skin tone. The blend of red, pink, and purple colors creates a trendy dusty rose shade, perfect for my days out or parties with a very light makeup. The 3CE Velvet Lip Tint lipstick has a smooth, creamy, and airy texture as it claimed. It has a yummy vanilla scent which makes me just want to get a bite of my lip (LOL, just kidding).

Unlike the design of 3CE Mood Recipe matte lip color, the 3CE Velvet Lip Tint lipstick has a round tube made of hard plastic and wrapped in matte paper. It looks quite slim and long which is easy to carry around anywhere. The color of the tube is almost close to the shade of the lipstick, helping you to easily choose your desired shade from the outside.

DIY: How to use Me?

Before I got this 3CE Velvet Lip Tint lipstick, I have a few friends who complained that its tube and brush were so small that made it hard to get enough lipstick for the first time dipping. When I first used it, I realized that they were just…. right. With other lip tint or liquid lipsticks, I just need to dip once for my whole lips. But with this 3CE Velvet Lip Tint lipstick, there must be at least 2-3 times dipping to get full lips with color. It’s a little inconvenient at that point.

Another thing is that after applying for about 1 hour, your lip color will be halftone down and then maintain that color (in case you do not eat) until you remove the lipstick. For this reason, I think when you first put on the lipstick, you should apply a little bolder so that when it’s halftone down, you will still get an accurate color.

If you ask me whether this 3CE Velvet Lip Tint lipstick wears off while eating and drinking, I will answer “Yes, but not too much”. When you drink, the lipstick will stick a bit to the straw or the cup. Though it wears off a little bit while eating and drinking, it still stays on lovely with a lighter color. I think if you do not eat anything, it can definitely last up to 6 hours without retouching.

Pros and Cons: My Best & Worst

Pros:

• Super trendy and gorgeous shade: the dusty rose shade fits well with my light skin tone and it makes my face light up. I feel quite confident when going out wearing only the lipstick even on days that I’m too lazy for makeup 😀
• It doesn’t cause dry lips and peeling: I used to have some terrible experiences when wearing velvet or tint lipsticks because I felt like they sucked the moisture out of my lips. They made my lips so dry after applying for a while. I had to bite my lips in order to peel the dry skin. What a disaster! 😦 I thought this 3CE velvet lip tint lipstick would bring me the same experience, but it didn’t. Instead, it still kept my lips smooth, soft, and hydrated naturally. Love it!
• Long-lasting: the lipstick stays up to many hours later without retouching.

Cons:

• It is halftone down after about 1-hour applying.
• Small brush and small tube make it harder to put on the lipstick that leads you to dip many times.

Rating: Judge Me

• Price: 3/5 It’s a bit pricey for those with the average income. But if you are madly in love with its gorgeous and trendy shade like me, it’s worth to try!
• Effectiveness: 5/5 The 3CE Velvet Lip Tint

  Know Better meets all my standards for a lip tint lipstick: beautiful shade, long-lasting, and hydrating. Now I still feel so happy when I got it and seems to treat it with partiality:)

• Appearance: 3/5 The packaging looks a bit boring and ordinary. The tube is quite small.
• Recommendation: 4/5 For all the positive things I mentioned, I’m sure that it won’t make you disappointed. Highly recommend this 3CE Velvet Lip Tint to someone who has dry lips like me. Maybe next time I would try another shade in the Velvet Lip Tint collection. They’re all so pretty and I wish I could get them all, haha!
