Jamo a 102 hcs 10 đánh giá năm 2024

I am looking to purchase my first surround sound setup, after much researching and hunting around the Trade Forum and eBay I've purchased Onkyo TX-SR505E amp from eBay. I am now looking for 5.1 speakers. I need small speakers as per the usual battle with the wife.

Yesterday I listened the to Bose Acoustimass 6 Series III which I liked, however after reading reviews they scored poorly and they are also quite expensive, so after much searching I've found the Jamo A102 HCS 5, going by the very small amount of reviews online they appear to score very well with both reviewers and owners, however I was hoping to get some more honest reviews from you guys.

I've seen the Jamo A102 HCS 5 for £229.99 inc delivery, 3 year warranty, Free 40m QED cabling and Techlink Subwoofer cable which makes them look ideal.

I'm looking to spend no more then £300 on speakers as I'm on a budget. I'm mainly looking to use it for surround sound for Sky digital (eventually HD), XBOX 360 and to use with my Samsung upscaling DVD player.

Any reviews or other suggestions would be great, sorry for the waffle.

Many Thanks in advance

Dan

Hello,

I'm in exactly the same position as yourself with the same amp!

I've narrowed speaker selection down to

Jamo A102 HCS 5 Tannoy EFX5.1 for 220 Morduant Short Avant Premieres for 299.99

Can anyone help with this dilemma?

Cheers

Hi Richard,

I've looked at the Morduant Short Avant Premieres as well, I really liked the look of them but I'm a little worried about the size. If the Jamo reviews come out bad I might just bite the bullet and purchase them. The wife got over the size of the 42" Samsung eventually so with time she'll get over the surround sound speakers, time is a great healer!

The place where I listened to the Bose recommended the Kef Eggs but I really don't like the look of them personally.

Cheers, Dan

I've got the Jamo A102 hooked up to my Denon amp and my HTPC, and I really rate it.

You can't beat a bit of Dolby TrueHD.

My problem with the Morduant Shorts is the fact that my set up at the moment is all in black and these are in a combination of maple and silver. The tannoys come in black and are relatively small, and of course the Jamos are even smaller. Like everything on this forum I've read good and bad reviews about all three. At the moment I'm most keen on the tannoys...I do agree with you about the Kefs, they don't look great at all!

After another positive review (thanks Azzin) I've bitten the bullet and ordered a set from AudioVision.co.uk, I'll post up a review when all the kit turns up, should be a week or so. Richard I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again

I ordered a set of these speakers last week, hopefully getting delivered tomorrow or Thursday. Have had my new receiver sitting on the cabinet all week with nothing to do!!

  • 13

Have had these up and running for a few days now connected to a Sony STR-DG910. Brilliant little speakers! They look and sound great. Well worth the money.

That's exactly the combination I was thinking of getting! Thanks for the feedback.

Can you let me know if you get your order? I ordered some on the 3rd July but when I rang to chase up the order on the 9th or 10th I was told they had been discontinued!

  • 16

I phoned them this morning chasing and they said mine are being delivered on either Thursday or Friday. I asked two different places about these speakers both said they were on back order for black. White and Silver were both in stock. I did ask if this was because they are being discontinued and I was insured they were not be discontinued, and they were on back order due to being in popular demand.

I'll let you know.

Cheers,

I might ring them up and try and re order them. I can't get on their website at the moment though for some reason.

Did you get the cable pack?

  • 18

Yeah, I went with Audiovision to get the cable pack as I worked out I'll need that much cable and it would cost over £60 to buy the cable so that's why I paid the £229 inc del and 3 year warranty, I think you can get them online for £205.

I'm eagerly awaiting Friday. Just hope I won't get let down!

I'm thinking of buying the same setup from audiovision after reading these threads. i need to downsize and need something small but with good sound. This seems to fit the bill

Just need to sell my MS914 floorstanders now!

Right, here's a quick update, I've found my experience with audiovision truely awful to say the least! After speaking to a different sales guy every time I phoned, no one would give me a concrete date for delivery, I explained each time my wife works part time and I needed to make sure they didn't try to deliver on certain times, however they'd never give me a date for when the speakers would be with them never minds being shipped to me. As time went on my confidence and patience with them started to rapidly decrease so I thought I'd phoned BBG the UK distributor for Jamo just to check if the A102 had been discontinued and after a brief conversation with a very helpful lady I found out audiovision hadn't even placed an order for me, however I can confirm that the A102 HCS 5 in black have not been discontinued. The lady I spoke to at BBG told me they are on back order, she places the orders with Jamo on Monday's and Jamo ship them to BBG on Fridays and then they send them onto the resellers etc.

She gave me the details of three local suppliers, two were &

163;249.99, and one (MVS) was &

163;225. I spoke to MVS and placed an order, I found the customer services from MVS completely opposite to AudioVision, infact the sales guy even said he wanted to phone BBG before taken the order to confirm when they'd get them in.

So my conclusion so far, Audio Vision (from my experience) are bloody awful and wouldn't recommend them to anyone , however the lady from BBG was fantastically helpful and the sales guy at MVS (Rob Mist) was also great. So hopefully I'll get my speakers on the 31st July/1st August.

For anyone else ordering I highly recommend MVS, details: telephone number 01202 861696, website: http://www.mvsav.co.uk/.

Cheers

Hi Dan,

You had the same problem as me then! I was just about to try and reorder them but i've changed my mind on reading your post above.

I'll give my contact at DigitalDirect a call... they have them on at £211 and I already have a DVD player on order from them.

Thanks, Phill

Hi Dan,

I am thinking about buying these speakers tomorrow but am a little worried that the 8inch sub isnt big enough.

Can you please let us know if they are any good?

Also, does anyone know where i can test these or view them in a shop? I can only seem to find them online and i want to test them first.

Thanks!

I was thinking of this setup also, is it a problem that the Jamo's are only 6ohms but the reciever is 8ohms, will this cause a problem????

Thanks in advance for the advice. I am pretty new to this.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Andy,

Try calling BBG Distributions Ltd they are the Jamo distributors for the UK. They were really helpful to me. The lady I spoke to told of 3 local places for Bournemouth, I'm sure she/they'd be able to help

Is a 102 HCS 5 a good choice?

The A 102 HCS 5 is a good choice for those looking a for a low-impact, limited cost sub/sat package. Be it for a den or smaller room, it's well worth investigating, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a comparable rival system at a similar price.

Is the jamo a good speaker?

Of course, the longer you spend at the top, the bigger a target you are to your rivals. And as the star rating above indicates, after three years of dominance the Jamo has finally been usurped as the affordable style speaker package of choice. It may be a little long in the tooth, but you wouldn't guess that based on the Jamo system's styling.

Is the jamo xs5 a good choice?

Again, rivals such as the Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS5.1 and Teufel Motiv 3 offer greater control at the top end. Let's reiterate: this Jamo package is still an excellent one – especially given the bargain prices it's available for if you shop around.

How does a Jamo sound?

Fired up, the Jamo system reflects its physical size; imagery is rather small and oddly distant, and the midband and upper midband have a raw quality. The sound is clearly compressed, as though it has been squeezed out against its will from the tiny enclosures. However, these things are more or less inevitable with all small, low-cost speakers.
